Paradise Indeed

9 May

So my first year of grad school has officially come to a close, and it has been a joy. Great friends were made, plays were read, theater was created, drama was turged. And now I have jumped right into another rehearsal process, for ‘Once on this Island’ at the Paper Mill Playhouse, starting May 30th, information available conveniently here, buy your tickets now.  And it is awesome.

It’s been a while since I’ve been in the rehearsal room with a musical, and I am surprised at how I could have ever forgotten that it’s the best thing ever. Seriously. I mean, not only are you making theater, but you’re making theater with crazy talented people who basically sing and dance for you all day. Is there anything better than that? That is a trick question. There is not.

So if you wanted to see what my heart looks like these days, it would look a little something like this:

Musical theater, I’ve come home at last. But the truth is, I never left you.

p.s. Tip of the hat to brilliant friend Olli Haaskivi, finder of genius, for this video.
